Ascension News (April 2, 2021)

AdminChurch eNews

The angel spoke to the women, “You must not be afraid, I know you are looking for Jesus… He is not here; he has been raised, just as he said.”

He has risen indeed! Have faith in Him and He will always be there for you! May you all have a Blessed and Happy Easter!

  • Service next Sunday, Easter Day, will be live-streamed at 11 a.m. as usual.  You may have already received an email from the church office with a letter from the Rector explaining the effect Level II will have on our churches.
  • A reminder that April 23 is the date that Archdeacon David, in support of Home Again Furniture Bank and its ‘Heads without Beds Campaign, and in thanksgiving for his April birthday, will be sleeping on the floor.  It would be greatly appreciated if you could donate to this essential ministry.  You can do so through ‘Canada helps’ found on the parish website (the full address was giving on previous enews, as well as in the Chimes.)
  • Today is Maundy Thursday.  This year the Maundy Thursday Renewal of Vows and Blessing of Oils will be online.  There will be a small gathering with the representation of the Deacons and Priests in attendance.  This liturgy will be live-streamed via the Diocesan and Cathedral facebook this morning at 10:30 a.m.
  • If you have an April birthday/anniversary, and you plan on submitting a picture, the picture/pictures must be submitted before the end of the first week of April to ensure they are included.  As you know, there is a special portion of the liturgy during Family Service, which is also called Birthday/Anniversary Sunday, when these special days are celebrated.  Send your photo/photos to [email protected]
  • All pastoral visits/interactions continue to be via telephone, email, or zoom appointment with either Archdeacon David or Rev’d Lynn.  If you would like an appointment, please contact them via their email or cell phone. Archdeacon David may be reached at 746-2095 or [email protected] , and Rev’d Lynn at 682-8500 or by email at [email protected]
  • If at any time you would like to set up pre-authorized givings, please contact the church office at 368-5693 for direction. Thank you!
  • The Pandemic Appeal continues; and to date,  $6,585 has been raised.  Parishioners are encouraged to aim to support our Parish by this means.  Thanks to all who have donated already!
  • For your convenience, I have attached the list of Holy Week Services.

God bless you all,
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
