It is said that ‘Lent is the time of going deeply into ourselves – determining if there is anything that stands between us and God?’ In our reflections and prayer this Lent, may God help us in discerning what needs changing in our lives, and help us also with the necessary change.
A few reminders for you:
- Apparently, a parishioner has donated a large number of non-medical masks which are on a table at the entrance to the church and at the office. You can take as many as you would like.
- There will be a service this evening, March 1, at 7 (BAS/Evening Prayer).
- As you know already, the Sunday morning Eucharistic liturgies during Lent will follow the format compiled by Reverend Canon Dr. Boyd Morgan. You can read more about Reverend Morgan and the liturgy in the Chimes and on the parish’s facebook site.
- In making your Lenten offering, if you would prefer to use a Lenten card, they are available for pick up at the church.
- Please mark your calendars for the World Day of Prayer. The annual service will be on Friday, March 3, at First United Church, Mount Pearl at 7 p.m. Enjoy refreshments after the service as well!
- There is still lots of room in our food bank box if you would like to donate an item or two for those in need.
- Attention youth group! There’s a youth group night at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, March 3, and it’s a Karaoke night! If you need more information, please call 747-1022.
That’s it, folks!
Stay warm during those very frosty days!
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
