For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’

I trust you had a happy and blessed Christmas with family and friends!

Within days now, we move into the New Year.  May you have a truly remarkable and blissful year ahead.  Remember the words of C. S. Lewis – ‘You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.’ May God be with you as you Journey.

A few reminders for you:

  • This coming Sunday, December 31, 2023, there will be an 8:30 a.m. BCP service but no Ascension Café.  Actually, to correct a mistake I made in my last enews, the first 8:30 BCP service in the New Year will be on January 21, 2024, and it will be followed by Ascension Café at 9:30 a.m.
  • A reminder to the Counting Teams and Sidespersons – 2024 schedules are posted on the bulletin board in the side foyer.
  • Please note that donations to be included on your 2023 tax receipt must be received by 12 noon on December 31, 2023.
  • The church office is closed and will remain closed until Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
  • If you plan on remembering a loved one in the Christmas Memorial Booklet, information and donations will be accepted up to January 14, 2024. Your name, envelope number, and the name/names being honoured are needed.  If you already remembered someone via lighting a bulb at the Christmas Tree Lighting Service, then your loved one’s name will have been added to the booklet already.
  • Calling all card players:  two card party dates to place on your calendar are Monday, January 15, and Monday, February 12.  Same requirements! Hope to see you there!
  • If you had a change of address during 2023, please notify the office by January 2 so your tax receipts will have the correct mailing information.  You can leave that information as a message at 709-368-5693 or email it to [email protected]

Hope you have a ‘Happy New Year!’
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
