How marvellous is God’s handiwork!

Before we even have weather suitable to work in our gardens, nature goes to work unaided by us – the daffodils spring up among last autumn’s leaves, tree buds are beginning to burst as the temperature rises, and birds are busy building their nests.

Let’s celebrate God’s wonderful creation and do our best to care for it.

“O Lord, how manifold are your works!” In wisdom you have made them all. (Psalm 104)

A few important notices/reminders for you:

  • The next service with the Book of Common Prayer followed by the Ascension Café will be Sunday, June 9.  Hope to see you there!
  • I presume your calendars are marked now for the Cemetery Services:  the Kenmount Cemetery Service will be on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. and the Forest Road Cemetery Service will be Wednesday, July 17, at 7 p.m.  If you would like to volunteer to help collect the offering at the gates, please contact Archdeacon Nancy or Randy Spurrell.
  • Thanks again to all who helped in any way to raise $2670 from the Cold Plate Supper – all proceeds help to support the ministries of our church.
  • If you would like to read at a service or two or three this summer, please sign the sheet at the entrance to the church.  Thanks so much!
  • If one of your children, or grandchildren plans to attend the co-ed summer camp at Lion’s Max Simms Memorial Campsite from July 29 to August 2, there are applications available at the church office. (Detailed information is on the form.)
  • Lots of room in our food bank bins for your donations! Thanks to all those who have contributed to the food bank.  Your givings are greatly appreciated.
  • For those who look forward to the community supper take-out meal, the next one will be served as usual from the entrance of the Church of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday, June 12, from 5 to 6 p.m.

That’s it, folks!

Have a nice weekend!  Hope we see the sun soon!
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
