Next Sunday, June 16, is Father’s Day!
An early ‘Happy Father’s Day’ to all grandfathers, fathers, stepfathers, and all those who take on a father’s role – all those who willingly give their time, their care, and their love. I trust you will all have a lovely day with your family and friends.
A couple important reminders for the week:
- The free community supper take-out meal is this Wednesday, June 12! If you, or someone you know, could enjoy a hot meal, then please come by the entrance to the Church of the Good Shepherd on that day anytime between 5 and 6 p.m.
- You may like to mark your calendars for the cemetery service at Kenmount Road on Wednesday, July 10 at 7 p.m. and Forest Road on Wednesday, July 17, at 7 p.m.
- In that regard, volunteers are still needed to collect the offerings at the gates for July 9, 10, 16, and 17, plus our parish needs one more representative to be a part of the Cemetery Committee.
- If there is an interest being shown to attend the co-ed summer camp at Lion’s Max Simms Memorial Campsite (taking place July 29 to August 2) an application and other pertinent information are available at the office.
- If you are able, please help the needy by contributing to the food bank. The bins for the food collection are empty!!
- Have you decided to help with the readings at our summer 11 o’clock services? Just contact the office or sign up on the sheet at the entrance to the church.
- Next Sunday, June 16, the confirmands and their families will be present for the service of Confirmation with Bishop Sam Rose. All parishioners are invited to attend.
- And last, but not least, on June 23 there will be an 11 o’clock family service, and an 8:30 Book of Common Prayer service followed by the Ascension Café.
That’s it, folks,
Have a great week!
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
