Next Sunday, March 3, is the third Sunday of Lent marking a midpoint in the Lenten Season.  Let us continue to focus on the journey towards Easter, and the resurrection of Jesus, and let it be a journey of reflection, repentance, hope, and joy.

Important messages for the week:

  • The Potluck Supper has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 7, at 6 p.m. We are delighted that Jacob’s Passage will still be able to entertain us at that time.
  • Don’t forget to make contact in person, by email, or by phone if you would like to work with Archdeacon Nancy in helping our parish fully engage in the Diocesan Strategic Plan.
  • Many of you are happy to know that the next 8:30 BCP service followed by the Ascension Café will be this Sunday, March 3.
  • Vestry is still looking for someone who will fill the role of recording secretary for Vestry – which means recording the minutes of the meetings only.  Another person is also needed to join vestry. Meetings are only held every four to six weeks or less if not required.
  • Don’t forget that the World Day of Prayer Service is this coming Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Families Church on Ashford Drive.
  • Just a reminder – St. Margaret’s Boat (Our Lenten Project) is at the entrance to the church and is gradually being filled with your donations.  Thanks to those who have contributed to date.
  • Our Lenten Bible study is taking place again this morning at 10:30. If you haven’t attended yet, you can still come along as there is room for more chairs around the table.
  • Our food bank bins are anxiously waiting to be refilled.  Please remember those in need the next time you go grocery shopping.  Thanks so much!

That’s it, folks!

May God walk with you on your Lenten Journey!
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
