Next Sunday, April 21, is Good Shepherd Sunday!

“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)

Celebrating Christ as the Good Shepherd reminds us that we as Christians are part of His flock and are called to imitate Him whenever we are in leadership positions over others. With Jesus as our role model, let us strive to be good shepherds to those that are under our care.

A few messages for you:

  • If you plan to attend DAMA’s supper, meeting, and service on May 5 at St. Peter’s Church, Upper Gullies, remember to confirm your attendance by April 25 via email to Rev’d Bill Strong at [email protected]
  • For those who would like a free takeout meal this evening, April 17, you can pick one up at the entrance to the Church of the Good Shepherd between 5 and 6 o’clock.  Special thanks to all those who make these community suppers possible.
  • As most of you may know now, our Primate, The Most Reverend Linda Nicholls, has announced her retirement.  If you would like to read her letter regarding her retirement, you can pick up a copy at the church’s entrance.
  • Did you mark your calendars to remind you of the cold plate supper?  It’s going to be an eat-in or take-out supper for just $20 per person on Tuesday, May 14, in our auditorium at 6:30 p.m.  You can pick up a ticket or two after the 11 o’clock service each Sunday or at the office during the week.   A donation of cookies would be gratefully appreciated.
  • Please continue to help the needy with a donation of non-perishable food to our food bank box.  Thank you for your kindness!
  • The next 8:30 BCP service and Ascension Café will be on Sunday, April 28.

That’s it folks for another week,

Have a nice weekend!
God Bless,
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
